Mid June Progress

Of course, immediately after these pictures were taken Jeff Lucas (our contractor) sent all of the joists back because of how warped they were. Nice catch Jeff!

Little bit more progress

These pictures show the progress with laying the brick and also running the new pipes to the city's lines in the street.

House Progress Photos

It has been a solid year since the last updates on the house and that is because it basically sat there for a year while we revised the plans, got permits for the second and third times, and then waited out the unusually mild winter that the contractor actually could have worked through. But now we are back to work with only the regularly scheduled interruptions of a construction site.

Thanksgiving in Iowa - 2011

Due to our hectic travel schedule in late 2011 Lindsey decided to stay back in London with Chloe while I traveled home to visit family over the Thanksgiving holiday. I had a lot of fun getting to know my nephew Landen and eating some wonderful home cooked meals. The family also enjoyed getting a little dirty in the back yard playing a little football. It was a great weekend and totally worth the flight to get in some quality Kennedy time.

First Proper Football Match - November 2011

Lindsey and I along with friends from Singapore - Andrew Valiente and his lovely wife Luli - experienced our first real match since moving to London. I had only been to a friendly between Ireland and Brazil previous to this experience. Sorry to say that Chelsea lost 2-1 if I remember correctly.

Enjoying Pittsburgh for the First Time - Oct 2011

Enjoying some of the highlights of U of Pitt campus.

Riding the Duck was cold and wet. Just how you would expect it to be...

I have to find the best place in town for breakfast. De Lucas did not disappoint!

Mom and Dad enjoyed the greasy spoon too plus the market area had something for everyone.

Had to try out the famous Pitt style sandwiches and Primanti Bros in the only place to go in town.....

Horses Are Common in London

I guess since it is so common I don't really think about how often we see horses in our neighborhood and we see lots of "evidence" of them all the time as we jump of the residue left on the street. Sightings in Hyde Park are also quite common although Lindsey and I have never actually gotten around to taking two out for a spin.
