Visit to the First Scientific Zoo

Lindsey Ammerman and I made it to the London Zoo finally and got to take advantage of a beautiful spring day in London. These are just some fun pictures that I took and I really like the ones of the legs for some reason. The main reason we went was to visit Elena Vlahos for the first time. We also hadn't seen Lindsay Vlahos since the baby was born and it was good to see her doing so well. Mike Goodspeed and Kati Boler also tagged along to add to the fun.

More Foundation Pictures

The picture with the forms complete caused me to flash back to a childhood memory. When my parents decided to build a new garage the ditches were dug for the footings and left overnight. My brother and I were playing tag in the yard near dusk and we ran right through the construction site. The last trench finally caught me by surprise and I fell in and caught my chin on the edge of the ground. At that point I had a pretty good overbite and bit right through my lower lip. An emergency call to the local physician and a handful of stitches later I was to chasing my brother around the yard.

No Turning Back Now

At this point there is no turning back on the house unless I want to be able to dive from the second floor into an outdoor pool. Not sure how I feel about these pictures accept that I hope they are a sign of progress. The previous owners took a lot of short cuts when they remodeled the house last time. They left out major support sections in the ceiling, under the heavy tub, and in areas of walls that were holding up the roof. So that was not fun and I figured they just did everything on the light side. Well it turns out when it's inconveient they did the exact opposite. Turns out on the new mud room they poured concrete for they ended up pouring about twice as much concrete as they really needed. Nothing like adding another day to the demolition. Sweet stuff! Enjoy the pictures of the money pit.

It's great being an uncle...

Lindsey and I both really wish we could be closer to family right now with the birth of my baby bro's first child. This morning Stuart was kind enough to skype me during the middle of the night feeding. Here is the snapshot I took. Damn great moments!

Davos Pictures

Last ski trip of 2010/11 - Davos

A gang of eight made it to Davos for what should be the last ski trip of the season. Next season we will miss Kati, Mike, Kenny and Theresa due to them moving back to Chicago. We all had a great time and the miserable weather on Saturday led to the absolutely perfect conditions on Sunday. Thanks to John Vlahos for taking advantage of all of the jumps this weekend and allowing me to practice my action pictures. Also, a big shout out to Yuhong Liu for coming on his first ski trip. Hopefully you join us for many more. Enjoy the pictures!

Typical Day in London

I rarely take my camera when we just walk around anymore in London but for whatever reason I chose to do so while it was raining outside. Needless to say I didn't take many pictures but I did enjoy this one of my two girls strolling ahead of me on our pavement!

Valentine's Weekend Staycation

With the help of mom and dad's Christmas gift, Lindsey and I were able to spend a lovely holiday weekend in the fabulous Savoy Hotel. Friday night we ate the delicious Savoy Grill and spent two nights in a newly renovated hotel. Saturday morning we ventured to Burough Market and met up with Mike Kati and Chloe for a quick cappuccino at Monmouth. It really was a great weekend and a wonderful way to spend Valentine's together. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Yi's Last Supper

Our friend Yi Ding is headed back to the US and for his last Friday night in London Sebastien and I decided that we need to collect our winnings from the ping pong tournament. Here is a cool picture showing of our great spot at the chef's table. The meal was wonderful and we wish Yi the best.
